Up to £4.1 million will be made available through the Social Enterprise Boost Fund (SEBF) to kick start and accelerate social enterprise activity in disadvantaged areas of England. This will be delivered through providing a combination of capacity building support and onward grant funding to local social entrepreneurs delivered in up to 6 local authority areas.
We will select up to 6 Local Delivery Partners (LDPs), which may be single organisations or consortia through fair and open competition. For each application, bidders can choose up to three local authority areas to work with, selected from 27 priority areas listed in the guidance.
The SEBF will commence from February 2023 and end by 31 March 2025.
Grants of up to £684,000 total cost per local authority area will be available for the delivery of this programme from February 2023 to March 2025, including:
up to £414,000 for delivery of the support package; and
up to £250,000 onward grant funding for local social entrepreneurs (plus a maximum of 8% of the onward grant funding total for admin costs)
The exact funding will be agreed with DCMS once the LDPs have been selected and will be subject to DCMS confirming satisfactory due diligence has been completed.
We welcome applications from organisations who can provide match funding, however, this is not a prerequisite for applicants.
The objectives of the SEBF are, by March 2025, to:
