King Charles III hopes for a rapprochement with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle before his coronation in May despite the Netflix documentary and the upcoming memoir that his son is preparing, Dan Wooton has claimed. The writer claimed that the King “is said to still hope and believe a rapprochement with his son and daughter-in-law is possible before the coronation” and characterised this approach as “somewhat naive”.
Writing in the Daily Mail, Mr Wooton quoted a royal source claiming: “The message from the king via his senior team continues to be that he is sad rather than angry and hopes that, in time, the issues can be resolved within the family.
“But that underestimates the mission Harry and Meghan are embarking on, which is about tearing down the institution of the monarchy.
“Many courtiers believe the king needs to allow the Palace to take a more aggressive response over the next month, with both part two of the Netflix series and the release of Spare, or the damage done, especially internationally, could be hard to counteract.”

The new Netflix documentary exploring the story of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has shown never seen before footage of the Sussex children, Archie and Lilibet Diana.
In one home video shown on Netflix, Meghan Markle can be seen feeding the family’s chickens in their back garden in California.
A baby Lilibet is strapped to her mother’s chest in a baby carrier, while also wearing an adorable grey pom-pom beanie.
Some royal fans have recognised that the beanie once belonged to Archie, who was seen in it when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were still working royals and posting to their official royal social media accounts.
The “heroic” US President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, was also the godfather of Queen Elizabeth’s cousin Prince Michael of Kent, a news report has claimed.
Born on July 4 1942 at Coppins, Prince Michael George Charles Franklin of Kent is the son of Prince George and Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, Duke and Duchess of Kent.
According to the report, when the royal prince was just over a month old, his father was killed in an RAF plane crash.
Prince George left behind his wife, new baby and his two older children, Prince Edward (the present Duke of Kent) and Princess Alexandra, The Hon. Lady Ogilvy.
Due to the emergency of the situation, the christening of the baby was a private affair.
The Mirror reported: “As his christening took place in the middle of World War Two, the location was not publicly announced and newspapers only reported that it had happened in ‘a private chapel in the country’.”

A professional body language expert has spoken exclusively to Express.co.uk to analyse the couple’s wedding photos from three decades ago.
Judi James said: “At the time this marriage was seen by the traditionalists as slightly shocking or controversial, resulting in a very practical, low-key and slightly brusque affair.
“The royals piled out of Range Rovers and the bride only used eye contact on her groom once to signal it was time to end the wedding photos.”
According to Judi, Princess Anne made “deliberate” choices during her second wedding so that it would be the complete opposite of her first.
She commented: “Anne had done her Disney Princess wedding to Mark Phillips and this second marriage was kept deliberately quiet, in a small chilly church with only a handful of bystanders waiting outside.
“Anne’s body language was less like a bride’s and more like a royal on one of her regular royal visits. Low on signals of romance, she chatted to the churchmen outside.”

Judi James said: “This visit seems to have brought out a more confident-looking set of body language rituals from Camilla, who might just be enjoying a solo visit after her husband’s recent pen-based disasters and his tetchiness last week when she dared to take too long to talk to the crowds.”

Camilla toured an Emmaus Community in south London which has been supporting rough sleepers by providing them with a home, meaningful work and funded training for almost 15 years.
As she looked at donated furniture and home furnishings in the boutique shop of Emmaus SLC (Surrey, Lambeth, Croydon) she praised the organisation’s work, saying: “It’s an incredible charity. You don’t believe it until you see it.”
Camilla has been patron of Emmaus UK since 2006 and has toured many of its communities across the country which have been helping the homeless, known as “companions”, for decades.
Speaking to the charity’s head of business, Rachel Burton, she added: “I know, with all these shops, they never give me enough time to look around. All the furniture is so useful. I’ve picked up some nice pieces.”
The first Emmaus Community was founded in Paris in 1949 by Abbe Pierre, a Catholic priest, MP and former member of the French Resistance.
The winter of 1954 was a particularly harsh one and Abbe Pierre became incensed when he heard that a baby and a woman had frozen to death on the streets.
He launched a press and radio appeal and the people of Paris responded with gifts and support and Emmaus became a major international charity.
The first three episodes of the Netflix documentary series from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were released last Thursday.
There was anger following one particular scene, which saw Meghan joking about having to curtsey to the Queen after Harry recounted the conversation he had with his wife when he first introduced her to the monarch.

Meghan Markle’s treatment by the media is not comparable to Princess Diana’s, according to a royal expert.
Although some attention in the press has been “cruel” to Meghan, she has not had to endure media scrutiny on the same level as the former Princess of Wales.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Express.co.uk: “Are dozens of people jumping out of bushes or waiting outside of the gym for a shot of Meghan Markle? No. Diana had it 1,000x worse than Meghan ever will.”

Prince Harry accused forces within the royal establishment of being ready to “lie” to protect Prince William from scandal in the trailer for the second part of his Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.
Two versions of the clips have appeared, one citing a general “they” as the culprits of the cover-up, and another accusing the British media of protecting his older brother.
But the editing sparked speculation on whether Prince Harry meant the Palace defended William, with expert Kinsey Schofield hitting back by noting Royal Family aides “worked overtime” to clean up the Duke’s own image over the years.
