Police have filed manslaughter charges against Autumn Lynn Vossler after a lengthy investigation into the 2021 drowning of her 5-year-old son in the Susquehanna River. The charges stem from what investigators say was a lack of appropriate supervision by Vossler when the accident occurred.
At the time of the Aug. 29, 2021 incident, authorities said the boy, identified as Romin C. Harmon, had been playing on the shores of the river near Bainbridge, Lancaster County. He died after falling into the water and drowning.

Harmon’s body was found dead after a five-hour search on some rocks just north of the Falmouth Access Boat Launch in Conoy Township, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Eric Bieber’s report. Bieber classified the death as accidental, as a result of fresh water drowning.
The boy was scheduled to start kindergarten the following day.
The incident occurred after a period of rains that had created higher water levels with fast moving currents.
Susquehanna Regional Police said Monday they’ve charged Vossler with four felony counts of child endangerment and one count of involuntary manslaughter after investigators concluded that she failed to supervise her children while they were near the river.
No further details of the investigation were immediately available, and PennLive was not able to reach police for this report.
Vossler is currently being held in Centre County Correctional Facility on unrelated theft charges out of Potter County, and police said she will be arraigned on the new charges at a later date.
Police credited the Lancaster County District Attorney’s office, and child welfare officials in Potter and Lancaster counties for assisting in the investigation.
