Marvel’s Avengers
The purchase of Eidos and Crystal Dynamics by game publisher vacuum Embracer Group has been finalized. And now, they’re having one of the most significant sales I’ve ever seen for a catalogue of games, 90%+ off pretty much every IP and existing title they got with this deal. Given that most of those games are already not full price, that means for a few bucks, you can get some truly incredible titles.
Among the highlights here, we have:
And then you can go all the way back and get Thief and Legacy of Kain games for literal cents.
This sale is occurring within the Square Enix store, which is a little weird considering the transfer to Embracer, but what I’m pretty sure is happening here is they are attempting to clear out all the physical stock of these old games that they have left at a steep, steep discount, and then start with a clean slate.
Tomb Raider
Everything I’ve listed above I’d consider a pretty solid game (yes, even Avengers, though that is available on PS Plus and Game Pass now). So you can end up with easily 200+ hours of games here for maybe $20 in total? You don’t see that very often, especially with franchises this big.
As for what’s next here, there have been a lot of rumors swirling about what Embracer plans to do with these studios and IPs. Here’s what we know:
But we’ll see what actually happens. For now, the only really concrete project of all of those is the new Tomb Raider game, which is likely a few years away.
But yeah, scoop these games up while this sale lasts. They’re all excellent, and worth your time.
